Make Your Own Avatar

 

This tutorial will show you how to make yourself look like one of the famous Avatar aliens. Follow this step by step guide to find out how.

 

Firstly we need to find an image to use to edit, you may already have a photo of yourself, but for this example I chose Angelina Jolie.

 

Now once photoshop is open and your image is open we need to Duplicate Layer.

 

Now with the top layer  selected we are going to use the Eraser Tool as shown below.

We need to erase some of the hair out of the top layer. You can make this easier, we can make the bottom layer invisible by click on the eye symbol.

Now the bottom layer in invisible we make start to erase the bits of hair and stuff we dont want to colour in.

Once this is done we then go to Image –> Adjustments –> Hue/Saturation or (Ctrl+U)

Now we want to choose Colourize.

And we slide it to the blue shade and you choose how light or dark you want this.

Make the bottom later visible again by re-clicking on the eye symbol.

With the eraser tool, start to erase out the eyes from the top layer and you will end up with something like below.

Once you have done this make another layer on top of the other 2 layers.

Now choose the Brush Tool

Now with the top layer selected paint over the eyes with a girly colour or whatever, like below.

Choose Multiply, on the later blending.

Again use the eraser tool and delete out the eyes on the top layer.

Once with is done you are basically  finished. You can add some other bits if you like, but for the tutorial, i’m going to stop here.
