How To Use Photoshop’s Camera RAW
For people who are into Photography and digital editing, they normally shot in RAW mode, for those of you who don’t know what this is click ( here- wikipedia ).
A quick summary is as follows:-
“A camera raw image file contains minimally processed data from the image sensor of either a digital camera, image scanner, or motion picture film scanner. Raw files are so named because they are not yet processed and therefore are not ready to be printed or edited with a bitmap graphics editor.”
Photoshop has a very good Camera RAW input mode, you can do a number of things with it. It can enhance your photos ready for editing it, I will show you.
Now this photo may look ok, but actually you can “enhance” this so much more; to make it look, sharper, more vivid, more contrast, punchy, etc.
Lets have a look at the raw sliders that go with this photo
As you can see, everything is set to “0″ this is why that original photo is looking so dull, but don’t despair. We can change that, have another look at that same photo with a few changes to the sliders.
And the raw sliders that go with this photo
Now as you can see the photos is much better by this simple changes. Of course you can do all of this once you are in photoshop by changing them as you would any other photo you already have opened, but this way you have all the sliders in the same place and its quicker.
Again you can always change things after by going to the image -> adjustments menu.
Before And After
Enjoy.
